Rocche, Barolo, 1998

Variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Vineyard: The grapes are selected from the 45 year old vineyards in Roche of Castiglione, that are cultivated with 4,600 plants per hectare.
Wine Production by ha: 32 hl.
Harvest: between 9th and 11th of October
Vinification: The must rests for 13 days in stainless steel tanks at 30-32°C with frequent pumping over during the alcoholic fermentation, which is followed by the malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged in Slovenian oak cask for 26 months then transferred into stainless steel tanks for 6 months rest, before bottling.
Bottled: 6,815 (750 ml unfiltered bottles)

Ruby garnet color, with decadent aromas of plum and stewed fruits. Full and soft, with lots of sweet, almost jammy fruit character. Round, soft and enjoyable.
